Hello Sparkling Friends ~
I hope this post finds you well. It’s almost Friday and I’m home reflecting on the week. This week has had its ups and downs, like most weeks. There have been some moments this week in which I’ve felt so happy I could dance, and a few moments this week where I’ve felt aware of the need to breathe deeper, as stress threatened (and may have succeeded at times) to take over…
Tonight I’m thinking on this idea of being a “work in progress.” Sometimes I want to rush my life, to get to what I fantasize will be some point in the future where EVERYTHING is as it should be. I’ll have enough time, enough love, enough money, enough… enough… As many of us are aware, we are constantly told in our society that we’re not enough. We are inundated with messages that tell us we will be happier if we buy a certain project, or fit into a certain image. Even with social media sites like Pinterest (which I totally dig), we are shown bright, perfect, ideal images that most of us cannot live up to in every moment of every day.
So what are we to do with the present? The RIGHT NOW? I was reminded through a conversation tonight that I am a work in progress. While I may not quite be at that place yet where I can sit back, breathe deeply, and completely relax…I am at a place in my life in which I can sit back, breathe deeply, and trust. Trust that I am enough, trust that I have enough, trust that I do enough…and that life is happening exactly as it should.
Tonight I am trying to appreciate the imperfect, the process, the trust-building…
I am looking at my life and feeling grateful for where I’m at.
We’re all works in progress.
Let’s reject the notion that we are not enough as we are right now. Let’s be strong, in solidarity, and give thanks for where we’re at, imperfect as it may be. There is much beauty in imperfection.
Light & love,
