You know, I am mostly a positive person. I often claim positivity as a superpower. I still feel that way most of the time, but I am also learning to appreciate the part of me that doesn’t always feel positive.

She is deep, darker, and grounded. She understands that while she loves the light and sweet parts of life, she can also find beauty in the things that don’t go as planned, the frustrations, and the tough times.

Here’s what you need to know if you find yourself in challenging times:

You can handle any emotion that comes your way. 

You can allow yourself to feel.

There is beauty in the light, and there is beauty in the dark. 

When you allow yourself to feel your emotions without resisting, you open yourself up to the possibility of peace. 

One of my teachers, master coach Brooke Castillo, talks about emotion as simply a vibration in the body. You can allow the vibration. And when you allow the vibration, it often passes.

This also applies to positive emotions, by the way.

So often, we minimize or downplay our good times for fear that we’ll shine to bright or overwhelm someone who is not in the same place.

When you feel happy and joyful – allow these vibrations

When you feel sad or anxious – allow these vibrations

As you grow more accustomed to allowing the emotions, as you learn not to numb the emotions out with your distraction-of-choice (think – alcohol, food, drugs, sex, Netflix, shopping, etc….), you will notice yourself feeling more and more ALIVE.

And this what you want, right? To feel fully alive. 

Here’s to feeling your emotions, my love. 

I know you can do it. I know you can handle it.
